T'ai Chi Ch'uan

T’ai Chi Ch’uan is a moving meditation with martial applications. It holds the capacity to transform the fight or flight response into a relax and expand response. The harmonizing of Yin and Yang, soft and hard, energy and structure, light and dark.

T’ai Chi Ch’uan means the ‘Great’(T’ai) ‘Ultimate’(Chi) ‘Fist’(Ch’uan)

It is an exercise of the spirit.

Practicing T’ai Chi Ch’uan offers the possibility of editing our personality. It strengthens our container, so that we may hold more energy and experience a deeper sense of quality in our lives.

Ty had an uncle, David Nittman, who introduced him to T’ai Chi CH’uan back in 1993. He went on study intensively with the Tung Family T’ai Chi Ch’uan academy, instructor, Tom Hubbell in Steamboat Springs, CO. Over the years, Ty has studied with Grandmaster Kai Ying Tung and his son, Master Chen Wei Tung. Certified to teach by Master Chen Wei.

Teaching since 1999 in Nederland and Boulder, CO; 2002 in Newport, RI, 2005 in Missoula, MT, 2006 in Lafayette, CO, 2015 on Martha’s Vineyard.
